Day 8 – Shelter for Nerds

Today, I made a fort in my living room.

Hail to the nerds! For this fine day before the kick-off of second semester may very well be one of the few days we can fully enjoy geeking out and completely wasting our time by: reading comic books, playing The Legend of Zelda, watching Godzilla and, of course, browsing through favourite anime shows.

That’s right: I’M that kind of nerd. Nothing pleases me more on a day off than to indulge the comic strips, video games and certain movies that are sadly considered less than worthy to respectable sources like IMBD. Continue reading

Day 7 – An Art Project

Today, I made a collage

A collage is best described as a work of formal art that utilizes different means of materials such as magazines, text, photos, and fabrics to create an arranged mass of expression. Popular belief dictates the existence of collages came in the early 20th century although there have been contradicting theories indicating earlier usage.

I have been a fan of collages since I was 14 after a school assignment required us to try it out using paint. I don’t have a favourite artist nor do I prefer any specific mediums, but I do love and perhaps even prefer one particular asset: colour.

Day 6 – A Wall o’ Hobby

Tonight, I decorated a wall dedicated to my second favourite hobby: photography!

My first favourite hobby? Writing, hands down. However writing doesn’t always help your imagination to fully appreciate the amount of painful detail that goes into an object’s design or shape, a scenery’s colour or an obscure urban culture immersed in black & white. But a picture, as they say, is worth a thousand words. That’s exactly why I love doing it. Continue reading

Day 5 – Singing in the Stairwell

Tonight, I was singing in the stairwell!

This was a rather boring, lazy day. Time went by at a glacial pace while we tried to distract ourselves in video games, reading and music. As evening approached I came to a bitter realization that time was running out and I was at a loss of ideas for today’s post. There seemed to be nothing to stimulate this dull, dreary day. I guess we all just think too hard sometimes. After all, having fun isn’t about premeditation. It’s about letting go.

Safe to say I was frustrated. Choosing to think no further on the subject I did my normal thing and broke out into song. Continue reading

Day 4 – Big Feet

Today, I wore my boyfriend’s shoes.

Although I like to think I have a healthy sense of style, I’ve never been one to adorn ladies footwear. I wear sneakers, gray running shoes or heavy duty boots for winter and they’re all size 8s. For a girl, it’s not very impressive. It’s never been necessary in my agenda to facade manly hooves anyway. I mean, as if I had anyone to impress. Thanks a heap, evolution! Continue reading

Day 3 – A Toast

Today, I proposed a special toast… with burgers!

Sadly we discovered earlier this evening that we have run out of our selection sesame buns. Hence our final resort to using some of our whole wheat bread instead. However, as I found out, it wasn’t a bad substitution at all! For one thing it’s healthier than most breads and the slices managed to fit the meat just perfectly. Can’t beat that.

Of course I know of some people who might take a look at the title or photo of this post and think, “The point was… why, again?” Continue reading

Day 2 – A funny face

Today, I made a funny face in the mirror.

… Ok, it’s not exactly my face, but it might be best if I did remain quarantined behind the camera lens for the next little while.

Ladies, you know those few days between the monthly crimson tides when you feel absolutely golden, propped and perky, as if nothing could compare to your predominant excellence even in a room filled with vengeful divas? Sure feels like heaven in Vegas one day. Next day… holy hell. Continue reading
